Minister Group Rajshahi picked Mohammad Saifuddin in their first call in the player draft of Bangabandhu T20 Cup. However, the all-rounder got injured during the team practice before the start of the tournament. He’s now going through the rehabilitation process. There’s been a good news also as Saifuddin starts practice to return to the field again.
The 24-year old promising all-rounder was a ‘hot cake’ in the ongoing Bangabandhu T20 cricket tournament. That’s why Rajshahi picked him in their first call instead of going for any ‘A’ category player. However, Saifuddin was not able to play any matches in the tournament so far. He got injured during practice on November 22 before the commencement of the tournament. He had to leave the field on a crutch.
Although the scan was supposed to be done to know the condition of the injury but at the end it was not happened because of Saifuddin had to break the bio-bubble for the scan. The site of the ankle injury has improved. He came to practice with the team today (Monday) and practiced batting and bowling for a long time. Although Saifuddin did not take any risks while bowling, he was seen bowling in a short run-up.
Rajshahi team physio Mohammad Khademul Islam Shaon told BDCricTime that the all-rounder has recovered a lot. However, the physio is not sure when he will be able to return to the field. The all-rounder will have to pass in ‘return to play’ test to prove his fitness according to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) rules. “The progress of Saifuddin’s injury is noticeable. He is recovering as expected, though the scan wasn’t done. I don’t think there is any need for further examination at the site of injury. He has practiced slightly today. But right now we are not allowing him running.
We want to see a little more,” Rajshahi physio said. “Now he is preparing for the return test as per the rules of BCB. If he passes the return to play test, he will not have any problem to play,” he concluded.
